In this thread, we will post information, updates, discussion and everything else related
to the MW Community Patch 1.4! Check all the information carefully so you can know
everything about the Patch, how to give your ideas, and help in the best way possible!

1) About the Patch:


This Patch will fix known issues (Bugs) that Need for Speed Most Wanted currently has. The number of fixes added will be the necessary to ensure full compatibility with MW Savegames, Trainers, and MW Mod Loader by Arushan (With all Mods made for it).




2) Features:


Currently confirmed features:

A) Several Bug Fixes, such as bugged performance parts of some vehicles, 0 Bounty at Heat Level 10,  missing textures, and more!

B) The MW community Patch will be Totally Compatible with Linux!

C) Front wheels won't disappear anymore, so open-wheel Mods will work normally!

D) Your MW Mod Loader Mods will be able to Override Every Single Change Made by the Patch, so you can add more things, or revert the changes you didn't like, you decide!




3) What the Patch can't fix/make (Yet):


A) Crashes to desktop and "vanishing cars" issues because of bad memory management that the original game has, when Mods are used.

B) Other issues that we haven't found, and other aspects that are logically impossible to solve.




4) Patch limitations:


While the MW Community Patch Team and its Contributors have been able of solving many bugs, there will be some bugs that still require major Reverse Engineering skills in order to be solved. Other bugs are hard-coded, which make them impossible to be solved, unless we have MW's source code.

Many other bug fixes that won't be added in the Patch require new tools to be fixed, but if we use them, MW Savegames, Trainers, and MW Mod Loader by Arushan (With all Mods made for it) will be incompatible, and therefore, useless.




5) Installation method:


A) It will be Through an Installer, in due time, we will post the detailed instructions.

B) Before installing the Patch, make sure you have a Completely Un-Modded Installation of MW that is correctly Patched to 1.3 Version, and that it has the Black Edition Patch.




6) Frequently Asked Questions:


Q) Will the Patch require a specific .exe?
A- Yes, and it's fundamental for the Patch. We will include it in the Patch, so don't worry.

Q) I am a Trainer maker. How much would the patched .exe file affect me?
A- The patched .exe file just changes a variable related to car wheels and nothing more. This means that the patched .exe file is the same as the normal .exe file (With the aforementioned change), and that your Trainers will work perfectly fine.

Q) Does it require to have the Black Edition?
A- Yes, it's absolutely required, and we will include the Black Edition Patch in the MW Patch so you can enable the Black Edition in MW.

Q) Will the Patch fix, at least, the majority of the bugs?
A- It depends. We will only add bug fixes which don't compromise compatibility with Savegames, Trainers, and MW Mod Loader by Arushan.

Q) Will the Patch cost money?
A- No, it will be completely free. In case you see someone charging money for the Patch, please tell us.

Q) Once the Patch is released, where can I get it?
A- We will upload it here in NFS Secrets first, and we will quickly upload it in all other NFS-related websites later, so if you want to get it first, check NFS Secrets regularly!

Q) Where do I can find technical support of the Patch?
A- Only here, in NFS Secrets. This is our main website.

Q) Will the minimal system requirements be the same?
A- For the moment, yes.


More questions will be added, feel free to make all Patch-related questions, as long as they have anything to do with the Patch, and their purpose is to solve logic doubts.




7) How to help the Main Developers:

A) By giving Useful Suggestions, Hints and Help, in case your suggestions, hints and help are good enough to improve the Patch in any way, your name will be added to the credits!

B) By Becoming one of the Main Developers. If your skills are the skills that we need, post about it in the Patch thread.

C) By Testing the Patch. Only certain users will be chosen as testers for security reasons.

Indeed.

As a summary of things that have been done:

1-All AI vehicles can be driven by players without problems.
2-Front wheels bug has been fixed.
3-Several options for quick Race were unlocked.
4-Lots of fixes, which include races, pursuits and cars.
5-All traffic cars added to the city traffic.
6-Possibility of adding 43 new cars.
7-Hidden cars restored, namely, the BMW M3 E46 and the Nissan 350Z

Allowed to give some suggestions concerning adding new cars? I would love to see one new porsche (can be replaced with the existing ones), that has all the parts for modification (I suppose you will need modelers for that, eh?)

BloodDrunk, thank you for coming here!

For the new cars, we need Modders, which are scarce.

Apart from that, we lack the program which can automate GlobalB.lzc edition, so we can add the new cars without problems. The cars can be added, but adding even one with all its codes correctly added is a PITA.

Rauny, Ti-Sonic and ACLambor's participation isn't even confirmed. I haven't asked them because the prog needed to tweak GlobalB isn't ready yet.

I have a suggestion.

For heat level 8, we can make undercover corvette ,supercharged SUV appear and helicopter appear.
For heat level 9, we can make all undercover vehicles, supercharged SUV and helicopter appear.
For heat level 10, we can make ALL police vehicles appear.

Alright, then for heat 9, all vehicles from heat levels 3,5,7 and for heat level 10, all vehicles from 4,6,7.

Does the 3 vehicle limit include SUV's and helicopters?

No, the Patch is still in "raw state", so we won't release a beta for the moment.
Additionally, new tools are being made, and I'm waiting for the development of some of them, these tools will allow us to make things like adding (Not replacing) the 43 cars a reality (We can make this by hand, but it's ridiculously slow). The idea is that the Beta is something that genuinely has something to offer, so nobody gets disappointed after trying it.

We also need help with testing MW, so you will help us with reporting as many bugs of MW as possible, make sure you post the bugs you found in here:

Love your work. Heck, I didn't even know that MW modding community is still alive, I just wanted to ask at which state do you plan to release it to public beta?
I found this thing you are doing on a YT video of yours, and that instantly got my attention. I noticed that the video was uploaded 3 years ago, what happened? Did you guys have to stop because of not getting the necessary tools or because of other uncontrollable things?

Anyways, thanks for what you are doing. I'll be looking forward to this 1.4 PATCH.
